Three Things Thursday - Big City Edition

1. This weekend I made only my second trip ever into San Francisco. It was so fun to be in a real city again!

Concrete! Buildings!

I got coffee from Blue Bottle Coffee for the first time.

It was delicious, and the snobby baristas made me feel like I was home.

2. The reason I was in San Francisco was for Hardly Strictly Bluegrass.

It's a huge (free!) festival in Golden Gate Park that attracts 600,000 people over three days.

So many people!

Katie and I got there early to hold down the fort for our lazier friends.

And had some Breakfast PBRs.

3. We ended up having a mini-grad school reunion at Hardly Strictly. I got to see a whole bunch of people I hadn't seen since graduation last year, which was awesome.

Bren Awesomeness

Additionally, this is what it's doing outside my office right now:

Yep, that's snow. This is how I feel about it:

I guess I'm going to spin class tonight.

Three Things Thursday - Random Edition

1. In less than 12 hours, I will be leaving this:

For this:
And this:

And this:
And my favorite ladies.

2. My mom scanned some of her wedding pictures and sent me one.

Adorable, isn't it? I totally want to get married in the 70's.

3. Earlier today I walked in on a man peeing. Ew. No pictures of that.

Three Things Thursday- FML edition

Today is moving day...which I hate.
Today I had to go to the Lady Doctor...which I hate.
Today I got a flat tire (on moving day!)...which I hate.

Ugggghhhhh...and since my car is packed full of stuff (moving day), I couldn't even access my tire changing tools. Despite hating flat tires, I actually kind of like changing tires. But, due to the lack or access to tire changing implements and the fact that I was at work (and supposed to be working) I just said "eff this", called AAA and let them deal with it.

Luckily, Strawberry has a full size spare, so I can finish moving and then deal with getting the other tire fixed.

In cheerier news, this was in my parking lot at work this morning:

I'm not sure that I would let my hypothetical children be tested for autism in that creeper vehicle.

Three Things Thursday

It's snowed more than 2 feet in two days. Again.

1. There is a giant cornice of icy death hanging from my house, and it scares me. I am going to make Dan take care of it when he gets here tomorrow. If he gets here. There is a serious blizzard right now. I tried to drive the three miles to Katie's house, and I didn't even make it to the end of my street. Scary!

2. My car survived its first slide into a snowbank. Way to go, Strawberry! I also managed to put my chains on with only some "help" from a drunk guy who took way longer to get his chain on than I did. We had our work retreat at my boss's house out in the boonies, and getting there was quite an adventure. I rewarded myself with lots of delicious cookies and a brownie.

3. I now own two snowboards, a set of bindings, and a pair of boots. Unfortunately, the boots are too small and the bindings are so old that they need an adaptor before I can put them on either of my snowboards. Guess I am renting again this weekend!

We had a snow day at work today, because of the impending snow doom, so I headed into work at about 10, picked up some stuff and went to the gym before the snow got too crazy. I spun for 70 minutes then lifted. I lifted after I ran on Tuesday, too, which is good, because with the craziness at work lately, I'd kind of fallen out of the habit. It's way easier to just get in a run or a spin class and ignore strength training when I have limited time. But now I'm back on the strength training wagon!

At this rate, I won't be able to ride a bike in Tahoe until July, but at least I'll be strong!

Three Things Thursday

1. Snow! We are going to get a lot of it tonight through tomorrow. NOAA is predicting 2+ feet by Friday night, and they have been under-predicting all winter.
2. The gash in my leg from biking on Monday is gross and painful. I guess I shouldn't have ignored it when it happened.

If you look closely at the background, you can see a paraglider. This park is also a great place for beginning paragliding!

3. I have to move out of my awesome lake front home. My roommate and I got a 60 day notice from our landlord because his son wants to move into our apartment. I am really going to miss looking at Lake Tahoe while I have breakfast and my roommate's puppy.
